TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Heisman hype didn't get to Ron Dayne.

The Wisconsin RB and 1999 Heisman Trophy winner ran for 131 yards and one touchdown in the Badgers' 23-13 victory over Florida in the Insight.com Bowl.

The Badgers next opponent in the Virtual Championship Series will either be Virginia Tech or Texas at next week's Cotton Bowl.

Wisconsin, which had the ball for over 36 minutes, used an effective ground game to keep the Gator offensive on the sidelines.

But when Florida had the ball, they didn't do much with it. Doug Johnson completed 21 of 41 passes and chunked three interceptions. The Gators also lost two fumbles.

Dayne rumbled for a 19-yard score with 4:09 left in the first quarter to put his team up, 7-0. Then early in the second quarter, Florida evened the score on a 7-yard run from Robert Gillespie.

The Gators took the lead, 10-7, later in the same quarter after Jeff Chandler booted a 36-yard field goal.

But with time running out in the half, Wisconsin strung together a well-executed 2-minute drill and got a field goal with seven seconds left to tie the score, 10-10, at halftime.

The second half belonged to Wisconsin. The Badgers took the lead back in the third quarter when Vitaly Pisetsky split the uprights from 32 yards out.

Early in the fourth, Brooks Bollinger connected on an 8-yard touchdown pass with Ahmad Merritt to make the score, 20-10.

Florida threatened to get in the end zone again in the fourth quarter but the Badgers' defensive forced them to settle for a field goal with 6:48 left in the game to bring the score 20-13.

Vitaly Pisetsky kicked his third field goal on the day to give the Badgers a comfortable, 23-13, lead with 1:30 to play.

The loss marks the third in a row for Florida, which fell to Florida State and Alabama in its past two games. Coach Steve Spurrier seemed to lose his grip on his visor after each of his team's 11 penalties.
