Reds' Hairston leaves with hamstring injury |
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Cincinnati Reds rightfielder Jerry Hairston Jr. left Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers with a right hamstring injury.
With the Reds leading 1-0, Hairston led off the third with a bunt single, but as he was about to reach the first base bag, grabbed his right hamstring and laid on the field for several minutes before being carried off. He was replaced by rookie outfielder Jay Bruce. Hairston finished 1-for-2.
For the season, the journeyman is batting .351 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 56 games.
