![]() MACU Athletes Compete in Local 5k OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -The MACU cross country, softball, and women's basketball teams competed in the Race to Begin at Earlywine Park on Saturday August 23rd. The 5K was sponsored by Sanctified Ministries. There were 150 competitors, 50 of them being MACU athletes. In the women's division the top four competitors of the 78 were Lady Evangels. MORE [+] ![]() Kelcey Gabriel Joins MACU Softball Program OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University Head Softball Coach Jerald Lewis has announced the signing of Kelcey Gabriel, a junior left fielder. In the fall of 2008 she will join the MACU softball program from Western Oklahoma State Junior College in Altus, Oklahoma. Gabriel, 20, is a Katy, Texas native who is the daughter of Debra Gabriel and Rick and Patty Gabriel. MORE [+] ![]() Incoming Freshman Erika VanWinkle was featured in the 2007-2008 Best of Issue for VYPE High School Sports Magazine Incoming Freshman Erika VanWinkle was recently featured in the 2007-2008 Best of Issue for VYPE High School Sports Magazine.VYPE High School Sports Magazine is a monthly publication which features high school athletes in all sports throughout the country. VanWinkle was featured in the February edition of the magazine as one of the top catcher's in the area. In July, the magazine did a year end review of the top athletes in various sports and honored Erika for her outstanding year on the softball diamond. According to the magazine, " We listed Erika VanWinkle as an area player to watch. She proved us right by posting a .567 batting average, 41 RBI and 24 stolen bases." MORE [+]
