Emma is a graduate of The Pingry School in Martinsville, New Jersey. She started swimming for the Summit Area YMCA Seals when she was nine. She qualified and competed in three short course YMCA Nationals and was a captain of her club team junior and senior year of high school. She was also named a Scholastic All-American by USA Swimming. She lettered all four years at Pingry and was also a member of the State Championship Field Hockey team. ? During her freshman and sophomore years at Yale, Emma contributed to the team in backstroke and sprint freestyle and butterfly events. She achieved personal bests in both backstroke and sprint freestyle events. She also competed in the ECAC Championships at Harvard University last season.

Emma's proudest athletic moment was witnessing her best friend qualify for YMCA Nationals right before she swam her own race. ? ?Emma is double majoring in History of Art and Political Science with a concentration in Urban Studies.
