After leading the Yale women's basketball team in scoring and rebounding this season and breaking school season and career records for blocked shots, sophomore center Erica Davis has been named the All-Ivy League second team. Freshman Sara McCollum also received postseason recognition for the conference, earning a spot on the Ivy League All-Rookie Team.
Davis, an honorable-mention and All-Rookie selection last season, blocked 55 shots to shatter the Yale record of 40 she set last year and, in the Feb. 4 game against Columbia she surpassed the previous career record with her 78th block of the season. The Columbus, N.J., native also tied the Yale record with five blocks in a game twice, against Delaware State and at New Hampshire.
The league's top shot-blocker, Davis led the Bulldogs and ranked among the Ivy League leaders with 12.3 points per game (10th in league), 6.8 rebounds per game (sixth) and a .442 field goal percentage (seventh). She recorded three double doubles, including a 23-point, 12-rebound performance in a Feb. 19 win at Penn.
McCollum started 10 games for the Bulldogs and averaged 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest. She played her best game Feb. 12 at Harvard, setting or matching career highs with 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
