Alexander, Taylor and Chapman Place First at Yale Spring Invitational

Three Yale track and field members won events at the Yale Spring Invitational, an unscored meet. Additionally, the Bulldogs' 4x100 meter relay team placed first with a time of 42.54, and qualified for the IC4A championships to be held in two weeks.

Kevin Alexander won the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.92. Shomari Taylor finished first in the 400 meter hurdles event in 54.57. Jordan Chapman won the pole vault with a Yale season-best height of 4.70 meters.

Other top finishers for the Bulldogs were Russ Kempf, who placed second in the 200 meter dash in 22.74, and Brian Hanak, who finished second in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:27.04.

Yale competes next week at the outdoor track Heptagonal Championships at Brown.
