Providence, R.I. - After the first round of play, the Yale men's golf team is currently tied for second place out of 17 teams at the New England Division I Championships. The Bulldogs trail Sacred Heart by only five strokes.

Taylor Hakes (73, T5) led all Bulldog golfers on the first day of the event. As a team, Yale shot 301.

Mark Matza and Ben Wescoe both shot 75 and are tied for 11th place. Colby Moore (78, T38) and Andrew Denenberg (80, T45) are close behind.

The tournament is being played at Triggs Memorial Golf Club.

Due to impending bad weather conditions, Sunday's final round has been changed to a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
