Hanover, NH - The Yale co-ed sailing team won the Mosbacher-Knapp Trophy this weekend. The Mosbacher-Knapp Trophy was hosted by Dartmouth and featured eight competing Ivy-League teams. Fourteen races were completed in each division over the course of the weekend. Yale was first with a total of 83 points, Harvard was a close second with 84 and Dartmouth came in third with 91 points.
In the A division boat, Eivind Karlsen '06 skippered and Hillary Shapiro '08 served as the crew. The boat did extraordinarily well, winning three of the races and coming first in the A division with a total of 44 overall points.
The B division boat was skippered by Rufus Peabody '08 and crewed by Courtney Cox '06. The B boat had an outstanding sail, finishing first in two races, second in four races and third in three races. The B boat tied for second with Dartmouth in the B division with a score of 39 points. Harvard was first in the B division with 27 points.
Yale returns to Hanover on Sat., Nov. 15 to compete for the Wood Trophy.
