Freshman Phil Stemler placed 3rd at the Men's Singlehanded Eliminations, qualifying him to compete in the Singlehanded New England Championships on Oct. 25-26.

Yesterday, teammate Matt Barry placed 5th at Elims and will join Stemler at the NE Champs.

Stemler, sailing in one-person Lasers at Connecticut College, came in 3rd out of a fleet of 20 sailors.

One day earlier, Barry sailed at Dartmouth College and placed 5th. The two freshman will have their chance to compete against the best singlehanded sailors in New England at the Singlehanded NE Champs in Dartmouth from Oct. 25-26.
