Scarlato Named A-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week
CINCINNATI - Sophomore forward Angie Scarlato (Cincinnati/Mother of Mercy) has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her efforts his road wins this past weekend at St. Bonaventure and Duquesne. Scarlato scored seven points in the two Musketeer wins, including three goals and an assist.
Scarlato had two goals in a 6-1 win over the Bonnies on Friday. She added two goals and an assist on Sunday in a 3-2 win at Duquesne. Scarlato leads the team in assists (nine) and is second in points (17) this season. Xavier will take on Saint Joseph's on Thursday in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship at 7:30 p.m. The Tournament will run from Nov. 6-9 at UR Stadium on the campus of the University of Richmond.
The Musketeers, who have won five straight matches, enter postseason play 11-7-1 overall and 7-4 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. XU has recorded 15 straight winning seasons and has recorded winning seasons in each of its nine seasons of Atlantic 10 play.
