A Montanana miss and then her foul on the rebound sent Boothe to the line in a one-and-one situation with 7.1 seconds left.

Boothe missed the front end, and Val Williams grabbed the rebound for GW and pushed it ahead to Montanana for her game-winning shot.

Xavier opened up 4-0 lead in the game, but GW responded to hold a 10-8 advantage with 15:35 left in the first half.

Joens hit a trio of three pointers one the next three Colonial possessions to help GW open up a seven point lead at 18-11, with 13:15 left in the opening period.

The Colonials stretched the margin back to seven, taking a 38-31 lead at halftime. The Colonials shot 53 percent (16-30) in the first half while the Musketeers hit 43 percent (13-30) of their shots.

It took over five minutes for GW to score its first field goal of the second half, and that allowed Xavier to close within one at 42-41.
