Men’s Golf in Seventh After Two Rounds at the Oasis Golf Club

Day One Results

Loveland, Ohio – The Xavier University men’s golf team shot a first day two-round total of 579 (+3) and stands in seventh among 19 teams at the 2004 Xavier Invitational on the par-72, 6,921 yard Oasis Golf Club. Defending team champion Indiana leads the field as the Hoosiers shot a 21-under par over the first 36 holes. IU’s Jeff Overton is on top of the individual leaderboard with a 21-under par through the first two rounds.

Jason Kokrak fired a 74 in the second round after tying his season low with 68 in the first round. Kokrak is two-under and is in a tie for seventh place. Neal Grusczynski carded two rounds of 72 and sits in a tie for 22nd with a total of 144.

John Streibich shot a one-under 71 in the first round and followed that up with a 74 in the second round. Andy Pope was seven-over in the first round, but improved his score by eight strokes to finish with a two-round total of 150 (+6).

Xavier will tee off on Tuesday at 8:50 a.m. on the first tee for the third and final round of the 2004 Xavier Invitational.
