XU Swimming Swept For Second Straight Night

OXFORD, OH- The Xavier men's and women's swimming teams suffered their third dual meet losses of the season and second in as many nights to Miami on Saturday. The Miami men defeated XU 115-83 and the Red Hawk women won 123-77.

Xavier's men finished with three first place finishes.

Daniel Milheim took first place in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:19.60.

The 400 Freestyle relay team of David Janszen, Kyle Hawley, Neil Reierson and Brian Waymire took first with a time of 3:18.36.

Rounding out the first place finishes was the 400 Medley Relay team of John Janszen, David Janszen, Matt Young and Neil Reierson.

John Janszen, Kyle Hawley and Young also each had a second place finish. Janszen had a time of 1:58.08 in the 200 Backstroke, Hawley finished with a time of 10:14.15 in the 1000 Freestyle and Young finished just 0.92 seconds in a very close 400 IM.

Xavier's women were led by a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 backstroke from the trio of Krystal Kooyman, Becky Faust and Sarah Blush led by Kooyman's time of 2:29.11.

Finishing first in the 400 Medley Relay were Molly Moeller, Janet Heil, Angie Hinrichs and Kooyman with a time of 4:05.19

The only other first place finish for the women came in the 400 Freestyle Relay by the team of Dana Hunter, Natalie Lundquist, Sarah Brown and Moeller.

Hinrichs added two second place finishes in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle with times of 24.94 and 53.47.

Dana Hunter and Moeller each took home a second place finish as well. Hunter in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:17.14 and Moeller at 2:12.69 in the 200 Backstroke.

The Musketeers will return to action Thursday December 4 at the Zippy Invite being held at the University of Akron.
