Five current and future Wayne State University golfers competed in the 96th Michigan Amateur this week at Red Run Golf Club in Royal Oak.

After the two rounds of qualifying, two Warriors advanced to today's match play -- senior Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) and sophomore Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child).

Johnson was tied-for-sixth with a 144 (73-71) after the two rounds, while Juszczyk was tied-for-59th at 153 (76-77). Johnson and Juszczyk are playing each other today.

Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) missed the cut by one stroke finishing tied-for-67th at 154 (76-78). Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) was tied-for-99th at 158 (77-81), while recruit Eric Johnson finished at 178 (90-88).
