University Park, Pa. - A few members of the Wayne State University men's fencing team competed in the 2007 Garret Open hosted by Penn State last Sunday.

Jakub Gibczynski (Lodz, Poland/Lodz) and Patrick Tomlinson (Marysville, Mich./Marysville) competed in the sabre with Gibczynski finishing 17th and Tomlinson placing 60th.

Brandon Isaac (Taylor, Mich./Truman) and Michal Brichacek (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) both participated in the foil competition. Isaac placed 53rd with Brichacek finishing 56th.

The Warriors are idle until hosting the Istvan Danosi/Michigan Open on Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Matthaei.
