HILLSDALE GAME STORYLINES
The Wayne State University men's basketball team will play its final GLIAC game of 2006 this Saturday when the 27th-ranked Hillsdale Chargers invade the Matthaei for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
The Warriors split its league home games last week defeating Gannon (70-67) but falling to Mercyhurst (65-57).
Following the HC match-up, WSU will conclude its seven-game home stand by hosting the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge on Dec. 20-21.
ON THE BENCH
Wayne State's David Greer is in his sixth season at the helm of the Warrior basketball program with a 81-68 mark. His overall seven-year coaching mark stands at 98-80, which includes one season at Tiffin (1986-87).
Hillsdale's Ed Douma has a 536-274 record in his 31st year as a collegiate head coach. His eight-year mark with the Chargers is 120-80.
THROUGHOUT THE YEARS
Wayne State leads 38-28 with the home team winning the last four series meetings. Each of the last five meetings has been decided by nine or fewer points. The WSU-HC series began at the end of the 1931-32 campaign as City College of Detroit (CCD) defeated Hillsdale 44-23. The Warriors are 4-6 vs. HC under Coach Greer including a 3-2 mark at the Matthaei.
