Cara Orchard has been selected as the Athletics Administrative Officer for Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier.

"We are fortunate to add a person of Cara's skills and experience to our department," said Fournier. "Her background in marketing, donor development and her organizational ability will add strengths to a number of our administrative functions. As we further develop our outreach, community initiatives and alumni presence, her skills are a talented complement to our objectives."

Orchard received her bachelor's degree in journalism in 1999 from Michigan State University and has previously worked for Mitchell Research and Communications, the Marketing Resource Group and Lionel Trains before beginning her tenure at WSU.

The recipient of the 2006 Beth Thibault Memorial Communicator of the Year award, Orchard oversaw marketing initiatives for the OneCard, parking, Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center, and housing programs in her previous position.

Orchard has served as the marketing coordinator for the WSU Office of Business and Auxiliary Operations for the past three-and-a-half years,

She resides in Royal Oak with her husband Jason.
