Wildt Enters Fourth Season At The Helm
Pam Wildt enters her fourth year as the head women's tennis coach at the University of Wyoming. She has posted an overall record of 18-45 record overall and a 2-17 Mountain West Conference mark in her previous three seasons.

Prior to coming to Wyoming, Wildt was the head coach at East Tennessee State University from 1995-99. In her four seasons with Buccaneers, Wildt¢âs teams compiled an overall dual match record of 41- 34 including a 13-17 mark in the Southern Conference. Wildt coached the team to its first national ranking in the history of the program in 1998 when the team was tied for 72nd nationally. Wildt also coached a pair of individuals to the highest regional rankings in school history in both singles and doubles.

Before arriving at ETSU, Wildt was an assistant coach for three years at her alma mater, Virginia Tech. As a student there, Wildt earned an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology in 1993 and a master¢âs degree in community health in 1995. Wildt was a two-year letterwinner in tennis for Virginia Tech from 1990-92. She was named the team¢âs most dedicated player twice and ranked seventh in career winning percentage (.630) in singles. As a junior, she had an impressive 22-10 singles mark as well as a 17-9 doubles record, and finished her senior year at 16-12.

Prior to attending Virginia Tech, Wildt was a nationally ranked singles player at Peace College in Raleigh, N.C. While at Peace College, she earned a top 25 national singles ranking. She was also ranked sixth nationally in doubles and was Region X Champion. Wildt, who was hired on June 17, 1999, is just the second head coach in Cowgirl tennis history succeeding Kilmeny Waterman, who led the program in its first three years of existence.

"I look forward to future years with Wyoming Tennis," Wildt said. "I believe the program has reached a level of respect never achieved before and that we are headed in the right direction."

Wildt has enjoyed some success in her time at Wyoming as six individuals have qualified for the Central Region Championships, four in the main draw. Wildt coached Melanie Roberts, a former assistant coach in the program, to All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2000 and Jenny Bowman to All-MWC Singles Player accolades as a freshman and First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore.

Wildt is a Tennis Professional with the USPTA. Actively involved in the Laramie community, she has created tennis clinics and leagues for people in the area.

The North Carolina native married Matt Wildt, the head ticket manager at the University of Wyoming, on Dec. 2, 2000. The couple have a one daughter, Paige MacKenzie, born July 12, 2002.
