COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Wyoming freshman guard Aubrey Vandiver has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the week, earning her second honor of the season and her career.

The Laramie, Wyo., native led the Cowgirls to two league wins last week, averaging 17 points, eight rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals per game. She recorded her second career double-double with 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in a 61-50 win at TCU, snapping the Horned Frogs' 19-game home winning streak. She was six-for-eight (.750) from the field and seven-for-eight (.875) from the charity stripe. Vandiver netted eight points during a 14-2 run to turn a 22-16 first-half deficit into a 30-24 lead. In the second half, she helped turn a 35-34 shortage into a 43-37 advantage, scoring another five points in a 9-2 Wyoming run. She had 11 points and 11 boards in the second half, including eight of the Cowgirls' last 12 in the game.

Against Colorado State, Vandiver finished with a team-high 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. For the week, she shot 12-for-18 (.667) from the field and was 9-for-11 (.818) from the free-throw line.
