General: The hard-working Doherty will again provide depth at the Buffs' point guard position. He performed well during the 2006-07 season after the Buffs we hit hard by injuries.

2007-08: Doherty saw action in all 29 contests as a sophomore, averaging 8.2 minutes per game. He averaged 2.3 points and 1.0 rebounds per game, while also contributing 28 assists and 12 steals on the season.

2006-07: Doherty was called to duty in 21 contests, including three starting appearances as a true freshman. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in addition to dishing 31 assists and registering 12 steals on the year. He enjoyed his best individual performance of the season during a win over Ouachita Baptist on Nov. 25, when he tallied a season-high eight points and six assists.

High School: Doherty was a three-time all-State North/South MVP and was a member of the 30-2 Des Moines (N.M.) Demons squad that won the school's first Class A State Championship in 2006. The all-time leading scorer in New Mexico schoolboy history, he was a three-time all-State selection. Additionally, he was also a standout on the track and field team where he lettered four times and was a member of both the National Honor Society and Outstanding Students of America.

Personal: Doherty is the son of Karen and Jim Doherty, and is majoring in Agricultural Business / Economics at WTAMU.
