Late Come Back Attempt Falls Short for Baseball
April 3, 2007 PLAINVIEW, Texas - A shaky bullpen for Wayland Baptist allowed the West Texas A&M baseball team to get back into the game on Tuesday, but it was not enough as the Buffs fell 12-8. WTAMU was led by Justin Graham, who had a solo jack in the eighth inning, which was his only hit and one of his two RBI. The Buffs dug themselves into an early hole on Tuesday, by allowing WBU to score seven runs in the first three innings. Alan Trayler started for WTAMU, as he went 1.1 innings, allowing six runs, five earned, while scattering five hits. In the top half of the sixth for WTAMU, the Pioneer pen walked six batters and allowed four runs on no hits. Picking up RBIs in the inning were Graham, Patrick Jones, Ben Edge and Greg Shanks, who sacrificed in a run. WTAMU (8-26) will get back into Lone Star Conference South Division action on Thursday against archrival Eastern New Mexico. The first pitch at Potter County Memorial Stadium will be at 2 p.m. *stats will be available shortly. |
