DAYTON, OH - The Wright State women's soccer program picked up another postseason honor this week when SoccerBuzz.com announced their All-Region squads. Freshman Amber Kasmer was named to the internet publications Great Lakes Region All-Freshman Team.
Kasmer was the only freshman to garner First Team All-League accolades from the Horizon League this season and ranked second on the league's scoring charts with 12 goals and 29 total points. The rookie also took home the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year award, giving WSU their second to-rookie award in the past three seasons.
The Euclid, OH native had one of the most successful campaigns in school history as she finished tied for third in goals in a single season (12) and is tied for fourth in points in a single season (29). Her five match-winning goals were second in the Horizon League and her 57 shots this season rank as the third most in a single season at Wright State.
Kasmer joins teammate Jess Rooma as the only two players in school history to garner the honor from SoccerBuzz.com. Rooma was named to the All-Freshman squad in 2005 after being named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year.
