The Horizon League Wednesday released its spring all-academic teams, with eight Wright State student-athletes being recognized.
Leading the list of Raider honorees was senior Jill Britton, a member of the outdoor track team, and senior women's tennis player Audra Beckett, who were each selected to Academic All-Horizon League for the third straight year. Junior Jacqueline Macy, a member of the softball team, also earned repeat honors as she was recognized for the second consecutive year.
Two of the four honorees on the women's outdoor track team, Britton and senior Marie McVetta, received similar recognition as part of the indoor track team in the winter and two of the four were tabbed Academic All-Horizon League in the fall as members of the cross country team in McVetta and graduate student Stephanie Supan.
To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 36 quarter-hour credits.
Faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors in the league make the selections to the teams.
