Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University men's soccer coach David Holmes has set the dates for the 2003 Hilltopper Soccer Summer Camps. The Hilltopper Boys Team Camp, which emphasizes advanced team instruction and team competition, will take place from July 10-14, 2003. The Hilltopper July Day Camp, designed to offer each camper an enjoyable and rewarding experience, follows from July 14-18, 2003.

The Hilltopper Boys Team Camp will feature team training sessions in the morning, instructed by highly qualified American college coaches and certified international coaches. In the afternoon, teams will compete in six-a-side units in a World Cup-style group play format. Team will be placed in appropriate divisions based on coach recommendation, age and experience. Players registered as "independent" will be grouped to form competitive teams, with every player having the opportunity to play a minimum of two matches each weekday. Teams and individuals signing up for the Hilltopper Boys Team Camp before April 15th will receive a 20 percent discount. Those who miss the early discount deadline can still receive a 10 percent discount if they sign up before May 15th.

The Hilltopper July Day Camp emphasizes the development and improvement of each individual camper's skills. Techniques such as shooting, passing, receiving, heading, dribbling and goalkeeping are learned through small group instruction, and are reinforced through a variety of lively games and practices. Campers signing up before May 15th will receive a 10 percent discount.

Beginning soccer players are welcome as players at all experience levels will receive individual and group instruction from coaches and current WKU soccer players. Camp brochures are available for pick up at the WKU soccer office in L.T. Smith Stadium, as well as the Athletic Media Relations Office in E.A. Diddle Arena.
