Spoden Named Player Of The Week AgainSept. 15, 2003 MILWAUKEE - For the second time in three weeks, senior Lindsey Spoden has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. Spoden collected a triple-double in Saturday night's win over Sacramento State, becoming the first Panther to achieve the feat since Sept. 22, 1996. She tallied 10 kills, 15 digs and 62 assists, with kill-number-62 coming as the game-winner in the fifth game. Earlier in the week, she narrowly missed a triple-double with 11 kills, 55 assists and eight digs against DePaul. Spoden, who was named to the all-tournament team this past weekend at the Powerade Panther Invitational, hit nearly .500 for the week and moved past 4,300 assists for her career. She continues to have a chance to become UWM's all-time assists leader by the end of this season. Plus, Spoden is one ace away from tying Laura Dallenbach for the school's all-time record and she has moved up to fourth in career digs with 965.
Spoden and the Panthers (9-1) return to action this weekend, playing in the Diet Coke Classic in Spoden's home state of Minnesota. UWM faces Charlotte Friday before tangling with Colorado State and 22nd-ranked Minnesota Saturday.
