UWM 3, UIC 1Oct. 22, 2005
UWM Head Coach Kathy Litzau on the ups and downs during the match "We just couldn't get in a groove. We were a little too predictable at times. But the players off the bench really changed things up - hitting from different angles, blocking at the net - and that gave us the spark we needed." Litzau on the contributions off the bench "They really added something. We got into a rut and were simply doing more of the same. We were making it easy for UIC. But the new players that went in the match made changes and that really helped." Litzau on how UWM let game three slip away "We just needed to stay aggressive and stay disciplined and the match would be ours to win. But sometimes we were observers rather than participants, and that created some opportunities for UIC to win the third game and push us." Litzau on the play of Leanne Felsing "I almost think Leanne gets overlooked sometimes because she is so steady and consistent. She made great passes, her defense was excellent and then there was her hitting. She really does it all for us in almost every match and she always seems to come up with the big play when we need it."
