Panthers Set Spring Schedule

UWM opens off-season play April 3

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team will play at both Notre Dame and Wisconsin as part of its spring 2004 schedule, announced today by head coach Michael Moynihan.

The Panthers are scheduled to play nine games, with the addition of at least one more date possible.

UWM will open the spring April 3 with two matches at Notre Dame. The Panthers will face Michigan State at 1 p.m. and the host Irish at 4 p.m.

The Panthers will play at the Wisconsin Round Robin in Madison April 18. The Badgers, Marquette and UW-Green Bay will also be at the event, though no schedule has been announced.

UWM will head to Chicago the following weekend to play both Northwestern and Marquette. The match with Marquette will start at 11:25 a.m. and the match with Northwestern kicks off at 12:50 p.m. The field is located on Lakeshore Drive at Montrose in Chicago.

The spring schedule wraps up May 1 with matches against the Madison 56ers and the Chicago Cobras, though no location has yet been determined.

Last season, UWM won the Horizon League regular season title for the fourth-straight year.
