Graczyk Named To Great Lakes All-Freshman TeamFeb. 2, 2004 MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee freshman women's soccer player Ginny Graczyk has been named to the 2003 Great Lakes Region All-Freshman team. Graczyk is one of 15 freshmen across the country to be named to the squad according to Soccer Buzz Magazine. Being named to the regional all-freshman team, Graczyk added her fourth award of her freshman campaign. The freshman was named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year at the league banquet back on Nov. 5, 2003. Besides the recognition as the league's top newcomer, Graczyk was also named to the First-Team All-Horizon League team and to the Horizon League All-Newcomer team. "From the first day of pre-season, we knew Ginny was going to do well," Panther head coach Michael Moynihan said. "She reported in great shape, and right away we could see she read the game at a high level. To be seen as a 'steady' player, isn't very glamorous, but it is one of the highest compliments I think a coach can give. It takes maturity to be steady and it takes mental toughness. For a freshman to display both of the qualities is quite remarkable."
Graczyk was the Panthers' second-leading scorer in 2003 totaling 11 points on 2 goals and 7 assists. The midfielder is one of seven freshmen who will return for the Panthers next season.
