Hawley Named Horizon League Athlete Of The Week
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 11, 2007) - Senior Nick Hawley of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has been named the Horizon League Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today. The award is the first of his career, while last season he was honored as the league's scholar-athlete of the week. Last weekend, Hawley led the Panthers to a third-place finish at the Valparaiso Invitational. He took third himself, running a time of 20:10, just 19 seconds off the lead pace. Milwaukee was third among six teams, including a pair of league foes. UWM has a break before returning to action Sept. 29 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. The first race kicks off at 11:20 a.m.
