Majors Named League Athlete Of The WeekMay 10, 2005 MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Sophomore Jeremy Majors of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has been named the Horizon League Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today. It is the first such career honor for Majors, as well as for the Panthers this season. Last weekend, Majors qualified for the NCAA Regionals in the 800-meter at the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday. The Georgia native placed third in the event, finishing behind just one other collegiate runner. He ran a time of 1:49.41 to come almost a second under the qualifying time of 1:50.40. Majors and the Panthers are in action this weekend at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships, May 13-14, in Indianapolis, Ind. Milwaukee is looking to defend its title, and win its seventh championship in eight years.
