KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Representing the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team, the Panther 4x800m relay continues to make a name for itself nationally. This week, the quartet placed fourth in the event at the Sea Ray Relays Saturday afternoon in Knoxville, Tenn. Running among the top relay corps in the nation, the team broke its own school record for the second-straight week.

The foursome of juniors Gabe Wagoner, Elliot Enright, sophomores Jeremy Majors and Justin Gorman ran the event in 7:26.81, which was good enough for fourth, while also ranking nationally and crushing their school standard. Their old mark, set at the Big Blue Invite last weekend, was 7:29.14, a 4.35 second upgrade from the previous record. This week, it was another 2.33 seconds that fell off the squad's time.

This season, approximately seven teams have run faster times, as the track and field season progresses through the relay meets. Among the teams that have posted better times are national powers USC, Kansas, Oklahoma and Baylor at last weekend's Texas Relays and Tennessee, Illinois and Cornell at the Sea Ray Relays.

According to a listing of the nation's top 4x800m relay times in 2004, UWM's time would have placed the team 14th, ahead of teams like Florida State, Arizona State, Virginia, Notre Dame and Wisconsin.
