UWM Completes Sea Ray Relays
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 15, 2006) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team wrapped its competition at the Sea Ray Relays, Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn. UWM ran a pair of relays and senior Josh Nygren completed an unorthodox 3000m steeplechase to highlight the day. Senior Dan Schultz, junior Trentin Edwards, sophomore Lynn Koepke and freshman Adam Schleis combined on a time of 42.44 in the 4x100m relay to take 24th in the event and run the third-best time in school history. In the 4x800m, seniors Gabe Wagoner and Adam Swanson and juniors Jeremy Majors and Justin Gorman ran a time of 7:41.92 to take sixth. Nygren ran a time of 9:25.12 in the steeplechase, finishing eighth in the event. The Marinette, Wis., native lost a shoe on the event's first barrier and completed nearly the entire race with one shoe. Schleis also competed individually, taking 21st in the long jump. He leapt 22-7 1/4 in the event. Milwaukee returns to action next Saturday, traveling to Lisle, Ill., for the Illinois Benedictine Invitational.
