Panthers Set PR's On First Day Of ISU Cyclone Classic
AMES, Iowa (Feb. 10, 2006) - Senior Nate Weiland and sophomore Lynn Koepke each set personal-bests to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team on the first day of the Iowa State Cyclone Classic Friday evening in Ames, Iowa. Weiland was the day's top finisher, taking 25th in the 5000m with a time of 14:39.74. The time moves him to fifth on UWM's all-time list in the event, while eclipsing his PR by 11.5 seconds. Senior Josh Nygren took 33rd in the event, crossing the line in 14:47.07. In the 200m, junior Trentin Edwards finished 49th in a season-best time of 22.33, while Koepke was 84th. Koepke's time of 22.84 topped his previous best of 22.98. The action at the ISU Cyclone Classic continues Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
