Winderl Earns Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District HonorsMay 24, 2007 MILWAUKEE - Senior Karl Winderl of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming team was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday. Winderl, a four-year swimmer at UWM, competed in the 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1650 freestyle and 200 butterfly as a senior. He recorded 19 Top-10 finishes on season, including 10 Top-5's. He set personal-bests in the 500 and 1650 freestyles this season and has been named to the Horizon All-Academic League Team two times. He was also named the valedictorian of UWM's school of business. Winderl, a business major with a 3.95 GPA, was one of only two Horizon League student-athletes to be named to the two ESPN The Magazine at-large teams on Thursday.
