Former Panther Brisson Signs With Minnesota Thunder

Joins the ranks of Milwaukee soccer players in the pros

April 6, 2006

MILWAUKEE - Former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer player Chris Brisson has recently joined the ranks of Panthers playing professionally. He signed a contract last month to play the 2006 season for the Minnesota Thunder, a USL First Division team.

"We are very proud of Chris and hope that it works out well," Milwaukee head coach Jon Coleman said. "He looked good when we played them [UWM played the Thunder April 1]. It's great to have another Panther in the pros."

Brisson, a four-year letterwinner from 2001-04, played in 88 career games as a Panther making 87 starts. He scored seven goals and had 11 assists in his career, and was a member of the Horizon League All-Newcomer team as a freshman. He was a member of the first class in program history to go to the NCAA Tournament in each of his four seasons. He signed with the Thunder on March 14.

"He's a great grab for the Thunder," Coleman said. "He is very versatile player who can play numerous positions. He brings strength, flexibility and a great touch in the midfield."
