MILWAUKEE -- The UWM men's and women's track and field team leave for Indianapolis, Ind., to compete at the 2001 MCC Outdoor Championships on Thursday, May 10.

Hosted by Butler University, the one-day meet will begin at 3 p.m.

Huebner named MCC Athlete of the Week...

Freshman Kyle Huebner (Sun Prairie, Wis--Sun Prairie) was named the MCC Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Wisconsin Twilight last weekend.

Huebner recorded personal bests in three field events going up aainst competition from the Big Ten. He placed second in the javelin with a throw of 163'0.00". He also jumped 6'04.75" in the high jump and vaulted 14'03.25" in the pole vault. His performance in the javelin and pole vault tops the MCC charts this season, while he ranks second in the high jump.

Against the Big Ten...

The women's 4 x 100 meter relay team highlighted the Wisconsin Twilight, winning with a time of 47.70, ahead of the Badgers who came in second (48.36). Sophomore Kristy Naef , a member of the relay team, paced the Panthers with a second-place finish in the 100m (12.18) and in the high jump (5'5.00"). Senior Andrea Thibaudeau took second in the 100m hurdles, running 14.93 for a season's best time. She also recorded 17'8.00" in the long jump to finish fourth. In the 200m, sophomore Nicole Frey finished third with a time of 25.76.

Leading the way for the men with second-place finishes were seniors Aaron Nodolf and Jon Manke and sophomore Ken Hunt. Nodolf ran 3:58.75 in the 1,500m, while Manke recorded 50'5.50" in the shot put and Hunt jumped 47'7.00" in the triple jump. Sophomore Jeremy Dunn took third int he 800m with a time of :54.31.
