Women's Golf Shoots Best Rounds of Season, Finishes Sixth

REDFORD, Mich. - Green Bay posted its two best scores of the program's brief history at the 2007 Titan Invitational in Detroit. The Phoenix followed Monday's then-best score of 380 with a 373 on Tuesday at the Western Golf & Country Club (par 72, 6,460 yards) in Redford, Mich. Green Bay, playing in just its third event ever, placed sixth with a 36-hole sum of 753 (+177). Oakland (641) won the team title by 13 strokes over Dayton (654). Horizon League foes Youngstown State (657), Detroit (666) and Cleveland State (707) finished third through fifth. Ellyn Hansen (Milton, Wis.) paced the Phoenix for the second time in three events. She matched her career-best score with an 86 in the second round. Hansen finished in a share of 23rd place with a two-round total of 175 (+31). Green Bay's Allison Winter (Shawano, Wis.) tied for 30th position with a 35-over-par score of 179. She improved one shot on the second day, scoring an 89 in round two. Anne Mandich (De Pere, Wis.) had a career-best 94 to open the tournament and followed up with a 98. Her 36-hole 192 (+48) placed her 35th overall. Madaline Selig (Green Bay, Wis.), who had a 207 (+63), and Jessica Guzek (De Pere, Wis.), with a 235 (+91), placed 37th and 38th, respectively.
