WILMETTE, Ill. - A new era of Green Bay Athletics officially dawned Tuesday, as the Phoenix women's golf team competed in its first-ever tournament, the Loyola Triangular, at the Wilmette Golf Course (par 71, 5,902 yards) in Wilmette, Ill.

Loyola claimed first place at the event with a 36-over-par team score of 320. Chicago State followed at 366 (+82), while Green Bay posted a 381 (+97). Team scores at college golf events are calculated by adding the scores of the top four finishers among each squad's five competitors.

Ellyn Hansen (Milton, Wis.) led the Phoenix with a 15-over score of 86, which tied for seventh place among the 16 participants. Allison Winter (Shawano, Wis.) carded an 87 (+16) to finish ninth.

Anne Mandich (De Pere, Wis.), Jessica Guzek (De Pere, Wis.), and Madaline Selig (Green Bay, Wis.) also competed for the Phoenix. Guzek, a junior, was the only non-freshmen on head coach Lucas Hana's inaugural playing roster.

Green Bay is next in action Oct. 1-2 at the Huskie Classic, hosted by Northern Illinois, in Huntley, Ill.
