VALPARAISO, Ind. - The Green Bay men's tennis team competed in its second fall season event Friday and Saturday as the team participated in the six-team Valpo Fall Classic, hosted by Horizon League newcomer Valparaiso.

Freshman John Brough (Calgary, Alberta) paired with fellow freshman Brian Zaron (Belleville, Ill.) to take the C Flight Doubles title, defeating UIC's Tim O'Brien and Sean Kreymborg 8-4 in the championship.

Brough also finished as the consolation champion in B Singles, rallying from his first round loss to eventual bracket runner-up Eric Fey of UIC. Brough topped Ryan Trapp of Youngstown State 6-1, 6-3 in the finale.

Matt Clegg (Stevens Point, Wis.) and Matt Keesey (Northfield, Minn.) advanced to the championship game of B Doubles, where they lost to Jayson and Jared Miller of Toledo, 9-8 (5).

Senior Mark Goldin (Bayside, Wis.) fell in three sets in the consolation final of A Singles, losing to Alex Lau of Valparaiso 6-1, 3-6, 10-6.

Green Bay returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Marquette Invitational in Milwaukee.
