MACOMB, Ill. - The Green Bay men's tennis team competed at the four-team Art Peterson Invitational Sept. 7-8, hosted by Western Illinois. The event featured both singles and doubles play over the two-day span.

The Green Bay duo of John Brough and Mike Wesley had stellar showings in their Phoenix debuts, as each went 3-0 in singles action. Each also added 2-1 records in doubles play.

Five other players went 2-1 in singles play, led by Tim Prudlow at No. 1 singles. In doubles action, Matt Keesey and Eric Plaushines paired with Brough and Wesley, respectively, for 2-1 records.

On Friday, Green Bay went 1-3 against Truman State in doubles, with Brough and Keesey tallying the victory at No. 4 doubles. The team then went 4-4 in singles play against Truman State and followed with a 7-1 record against SIU-Edwardsville in singles.

Saturday's action featured Green Bay splitting 4-4 in singles against the host Leathernecks, but Western Illinois responded with a 3-1 record in doubles play. Green Bay rounded out the day's action with a 4-0 record against SIU-Edwardsville in doubles.

Green Bay will return to fall off-season action Sept. 28-29 with the Valparaiso Invitational in Valparaiso, Ind.
