FLOSSMOOR, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men's tennis team had a split result in its first action of the spring season Saturday, as the Phoenix recovered from a 5-2 setback to Chicago State with a 7-0 victory over the University of Chicago.

Against Chicago State, the Phoenix started the day by claiming the doubles point thanks to wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. But the Cougars overwhelmed UW-Green Bay in singles play, as the only Phoenix point came in Matt Clegg's win at No. 3.

Later in the day, the Phoenix posted a 7-0 victory on the University of Chicago. Tim Prudlow and Mark Goldin combined for their second doubles win of the day and followed with straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

The Phoenix returns to action against UW-Oshkosh Feb. 9.
