DAYTON, Ohio
- The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men's golf team is peaking at the right time, as the Phoenix claimed the UD Spring Invitational championship Tuesday with an 11-stroke lead on the field in its final regular season tournament.

Garrett Gosh turned in the best round of the day, as his even par 71 was one of just two players to make par for the final 18 holes. Gosh moved into a tie for eighth with his effort on Tuesday.

Although Eric Mabee slipped out of medalist honors with an 81 on Tuesday, he and Aaron Pearson tied for fifth overall with three-round totals of 230. Both were just four shots off the tournament lead.

Travis Meyer finished out the Phoenix scorers on Tuesday with a 77, his lowest round of the two-day event.

Bowling Green moved into second thanks to medalist John Powers' even-par 71 on Tuesday, as the Falcons finished 11 strokes behind UW-Green Bay's pace. Host Dayton jumped from seventh on Monday into third on Tuesday with a team score of 303 during the final day of action in the 12-team field.

The Phoenix will now head to the 2007 Horizon League Golf Championship in Lebanon, Ohio, April 30-May 1.
