University of Wisconsin-Green Bay senior Joey Weber has been named the Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in his career the league office announced Tuesday. Weber also earned the award earlier this season on Nov. 14 and twice during his junior campaign.
Weber was a part of four wins as the Phoenix posted its fifth straight duel meet victory by downing South Dakota State 149-113 Saturday in Brookings, S.D. The Eden Prairie, Minn., native won the 50 freestyle (21.04) and the 100 freestyle (46.73) in addition to swimming on the 200 medley (1:35.03) and 400 freestyle (3:13.26) relays.
UW-Green Bay is now 5-3 in duel meets this season and will be off from competition until facing Rhode Island Jan. 5 in Venice, Fla., as part of the team's annual training trip.
