Dec. 11, 2007

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay junior Brandon Kuntz (Pulaski, Wis.) was named Horizon League Male Diver of the Week for the first time in his career, the league office announced today. Kuntz is the seventh different member of the Phoenix swimming and diving program to win a weekly award in the season's first eight weeks.

Kuntz won all four events over two dual meets last weekend, leading the Phoenix to victories over Valparaiso and South Dakota State. On Friday, he claimed both the one-meter (262.65) and the three-meter (273.50) titles against Valpo, and did the same against SDSU the next day, posting a score of 267.00 in the one-meter event and a 243.40 on the three-meter board.

Green Bay, with seven different individual weekly winners, leads the league in that category. No other school has had more than four different honorees. Milwaukee, which has nine total awards, is the only school with more than Green Bay, which has eight.

Green Bay does not return to action until Jan. 12, when the Phoenix hosts Horizon League foe UIC.
