Stockton, CA - Saint Mary's men's tennis participated in the Pacific Invitational over the weekend, where they captured both the Flight A and B championships. Joel Kusnierz swept through the Flight A competition, while Andrea Zannoni went undefeated in Flight B competition.

Kusnierz defeated Laurent Garcin of Nevada in the final round of the Flight A singles, 1-6; 6-3; 6-3. Garcin of the Nevada Wolfpack had proven his abilities in his last outing, as he advanced to the finals of the Chandler Cup (California Tournament) the weekend before. Head Coach Michael Wayman stated, "I am very happy with Joel's performance over the weekend. Garcin was a high-level opponent, Joel had to play is very best to pick up the victory."

Andrea Zannoni joined Kusnierz it the winner's circle, as Zannoni went undefeated in Flight B competition. Zannoni defeated Falko Huettenberger of San Francisco in the final round of the Flight B Singles, 1-6; 7-5; 6-2.

In other Gael singles action, freshman Matt Welty won the Flight C Consolation Final, defeating Nevada's Cameron Spearman.
