WCC Athletes OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL SELECTED
MENS PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Nico Terrien, Loyola Marymount
Loyola Marymount freshman Nico Terrien has been tabbed as the WCC Mens Tennis Player of the Month for April. Terrien, the WCC Freshman of the Year, finished the month of April with a perfect 7-0 mark at the No. 2 singles slot, including wins over Saint Marys, UC Riverside, Idaho, Portland, San Francisco, and Santa Clara. The Nantes, France native finished the season 27-8 overall, and a 17-0 record at No. 2 singles. Terrien earned first-team All-WCC honors at this seasons conference championship. He led the Lions to their first national ranking in program history this season, checking in at #75 in the ITA rankings on March 16.
WOMENS PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Natalie Braverman, Pepperdine
Pepperdines Natalie Braverman has been tabbed as the WCC Womens Tennis Player of the Month after leading the Waves to a 6-2 team record during April. The sophomore posted a record of 5-1 during the month and helped Pepperdine capture its 16th WCC title in 17 years. Playing at the #1 singles spot, Braverman had victories over No. 16 Jackie Carelton of UCLA, and twice defeated nationally ranked Emma Murphy of San Diego. The WCC all-conference first teamer is ranked at No. 22 in the latest ITA rankings. The Newport Beach, CA native finished out the regular season with a 16-5 overall record.
MENS DOUBLES DUO OF THE MONTH - Scott Doerner and Alex Herrera, PEP
Pepperdine sophomore Scott Doerner and senior Alex Herrera produced a successful April, as the pair teamed up to post a 7-0 record. The tandem upset Harvards No. 37 ranked duo, and also recorded wins against South Florida, Fresno State, Stanford, Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, and San Diego. The pair are currently ranked as the No. 60 doubles tandem in the nation.
WOMENS DOUBLES DUO OF THE MONTH - Lise Sissler and Eva Dickes, PEP
The Pepperdine tandem of freshman Lise Sissler and freshman Eva Dickes paired up for the Waves and posted a 4-0 mark during the month of April. The team defeated WCC tandems from Loyola Marymount, Gonzaga, and Santa Clara. The tandem helped Pepperdine to its 16th title in 17 years.
