Gonzaga senior Zach Scott collected the fifth hat trick in Bulldogs men's soccer history as Gonzaga downed No. 17 Loyola Marymount 4-1 on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Martin Field. Scott knocked home all three goals on headers as the Bulldogs remained undefeated in West Coast Conference play.

Gonzaga jumped on the board early as Taylor McCool beat Lions goalkeeper Dan Sheridan on a near post shot in the fourth minute. Arni Pjetursson served the ball to McCool on a break from the top of the goal box. Scott knocked home his first goal of the afternoon at 15:21 as he headed home an indirect kick from Matt Prichard.

Loyola Marymount cut the lead to 2-1 five minutes into the second half as All-American Arturo Torres tapped a ball over Zags goalkeeper Mike McCarthy on a ball sent in by Matthew Kovar. Gonzaga responded just three minutes later as Prichard and Scott hooked up again for the Bulldogs third goal. Prichard again sent a ball into the box on an indirect kick, Scott again served the ball into the net on a header.

Gonzaga would add an insurance goal in the 68th minute as Scott completed the hat trick with a header off a ball by Scott Yuska. Gonzaga finished the match out shooting the Lions 25-10.
