The USD men's golf team, which stood at second place through the first two rounds of action, finished 5th overall out of fifteen teams at the 2001 Rocky Mountain Men's Intercollegiate. Host Denver ran away with the event with a three-round team total of 859. Rounding out the top-five team standings were Wichita State (875), Wyoming (877), Oral Roberts (877) and San Diego (879 (291-288-300). USD junior Berry Henson, who was tied for first after Monday's first two rounds, carded a 76 Tuesday and finished tied for 7th at 214 (71-67-76). Junior David Isaacson shot 74 Tuesday and finished tied for 10th overall with a 217 (71-72-74).
Rounding out USD scoring was Tim Cureton (T-40 at 226; 73-78-75), Brian Teaff (T-48 at 228; 79-74-75) and Andrew Brisbois (T-54 at 230; 76-75-79). Miguel Griego of Oral Roberts shot a final round score of 67 to finish at 206 (10 under par) and win the individual title.
