May 15-The Pepperdine men's golf team, winners of the WCC Championships and ranked No. 22 by Golf World, will compete at the NCAA West Regional Championships at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Washington on May 15-17. The Waves were selected as the #9 seed in the 27 team field. Follow live first round action HERE.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at host Washington's par-72, 7,304-yard home course.

The West Regional consists of 27 teams and six individuals with 10 teams and two individuals advancing to the NCAA Championships slated for May 27-30 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

UCLA is the No. 1 seed in the West, while Clemson gained the top seed in the East and Texas the No. 1 seed in the Central.

The Waves are led by WCC Golfer of the Year, sophomore Michael Putnam. Putnam, ranked #59 in the nation by Golf Week, tied a Riverbend Golf Club course record low with a second round 65 on his way to the WCC Championship individual top honors. Other key golfers for Pepperdine should be sophomore Brian O'Flaherty, junior Randy Creighton, senior Brandon White and freshman Chris Elliott.

Pepperdine is making its fifth straight NCAA West Regional appearance and 11th overall. The Waves are seeking their sixth NCAA Championships appearance and second in a row.

Pepperdine captured the national championship in 1997.
