Junior Katherine Hull shot a final-round and school-record 64 to lead Pepperdine to a 25-shot victory in the Pioneer Electronic Bruin Classic Tuesday afternoon at Menifee Lakes Country Club in Menifee, California, Tuesday afternoon. Hull, who earned individual medallist honors with a nine-under par score of 207, established Pepperdine school records for low 18 (64) and low 54 hole scores (207). Hull eclipsed the previous low 54 score of 208 shot by Tamie Durdin at the 1999 Edean Ihlanfeldt at Sahalee Country Club. Pepperdine finished with a three-round total of 12-over par 876 to finish 25 shots ahead of second place UCLA, which finished with a final score of 901. New Mexico and Oklahoma finished tied for third at 908 and San Francisco placed fifth with a 911 total. Pepperdine's final round team score of 284 (four-under par) is the second-lowest 18-hole total in the program's history, falling one shot shy of the school mark of 283 posted at the 2001 San Jose State Spartan Invitational. Junior Lindsey Wright placed second individually with a two-under par total of 214. Wright has now played six straight rounds of par or better. Oklahoma's Lisa Meldrum (220) placed third, followed by Gina Umeck (221) of UCLA and Oregon's Jess Carlyon was fifth with a score of 222. Pepperdine freshman Rachel Kyono tied for sixth after carding a 54-hole total 223. Kyono's final round of 71 is a career low score. The Waves are off until the West Coast Conference (WCC) Championships that will be contested April 15-16 and the Riverbend Golf Course in Fresno, California.
